Burundi’s development at the heart of discussions led by President Ndayishimiye in Washington D.C.

Continuing his stay in Washington D.C, USA, the Head of State His Excellency Evariste Ndayishimiye began the day of this Wednesday, February 5 with a meeting with Senator Steve Daines, member of the Subcommittee on Relations with Africa. He praised the courage and leadership of the Burundian President who instills good values ​​in African youth.

“I am proud that you defend faith, family and the protection of life,” said the American senator, happy to learn that Burundi is among the signatory countries of the “Geneva Consensus Declaration”, a declaration that is against abortion and that highlights the promotion of women’s health and the strengthening of the family.

During this meeting, President Evariste Ndayishimiye and Senator Steve Daines also welcomed the good cultural and religious values ​​shared by Burundi and the USA based on faith in God Almighty, family and the protection of life.

The Burundian Number One also met with Senator Lonny Jackson, also a member of the subcommittee responsible for external relations, with whom they discussed, among other things, the possibility for Burundi to be governed by AGOA in turn in order to allow it to export certain products to the United States without customs duties or quotas.

Still on the subject of interviews, the Burundian Number One finally had fruitful discussions with Dr. Jordan Peterson, a university professor who teaches online courses on financial independence, entrepreneurship, human responsibility for the holistic development of the individual and the human person. The President of the Republic took this opportunity to invite him to Burundi so that he could share this knowledge with young Burundians.

On this sixth day of February, the Burundian Presidential Couple took part in the parliamentary luncheon which took place on Capitol Hill and which was organized as part of the preparatory activities for the National Prayer Breakfast for this year 2025, scheduled for this Thursday, February 6.

A dinner to open the event was also offered late in the evening. It was a time for participants to exchange and share edifying testimonies.
