Brasília, 8 July 2026 — His Excellency Ambassador Jean Bosco Barege, the Ambassador of the Republic of Burundi to the Federative Republic of Brazil, formally presented his Letters of Credence to President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva during an official ceremony held at the Palácio do Planalto.
The credential ceremony, organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Brazil (Itamaraty), marked the official beginning of Ambassador Barege’s diplomatic mission in Brazil. President Lula received the credentials alongside senior officials, including Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira and Special Advisor Celso Amorim, reaffirming Brazil’s commitment to strengthening ties with partner nations.
