The Embassy of the Republic of Burundi in the United States had the honor of hosting a reception at the Ambassador’s Residence to commemorate the 64th Anniversary of Burundi’s Independence.
The celebration brought together members of the Burundian Diaspora from across the United States, friends of Burundi, members of the diplomatic corps, government representatives and other distinguished guests. It was truly inspiring to witness such a diverse community come together in a spirit of friendship, solidarity and shared commitment to Burundi.
The Embassy was particularly honored to welcome Ms. Sarah Troutman, Deputy Assistant Secretary for African Affairs at the U.S. Department of State, as the Guest of Honor. Her presence underscored the importance of the longstanding friendship and partnership between Burundi and the United States.
The occasion provided an opportunity to celebrate Burundi’s rich history, culture and achievements, while also reflecting on the strong bonds that connect Burundi with its friends and partners in the United States and around the world.
As we marked 64 years of independence, we celebrated not only Burundi’s past, but also its aspirations for a peaceful, prosperous and united future. The Embassy extends its sincere appreciation to all those who joined us in commemorating this important national occasion and to everyone who continues to contribute to strengthening the enduring ties between Burundi and the United States.
Happy 64th Independence Anniversary to the people of Burundi!
